This is how you normalise Nazism. 

It’s NOT normal. It has never been normal. 

It doesn’t matter how ‘trendy’ they are, they stay the same. They’re the same genocidal murderers they always have been and always will be. 

To see a major outlet trying to spin them into this new hip and cool image is normalising it, plain and simple. It’s helping them slather on that fresh new coat of paint meant to hide the horror beneath the finish, to make it marketable to more and more people until eventually they have a stranglehold. 

To willingly act like this is to erase history and put thousands of people in danger.

It’s shameful, it’s absurd and most of all it is incredibly dangerous.

I agree with all that has been said, but since I live in Austria, I wanted to provide more information on that man. It’s Martin Sellner, head of the Identitäre Bewegung, which is often described as extremist and neo-fascist. In his youth he was an antisemitic Neo-Nazi, now he concentrates his hatred mostly on Muslims. His group stormed multiply theatre plays in which refugees were participating (and some people in the audience were hurt) among other things. A person like him should never, never, never be normalized or even glamourized like by the CNN. Also, a member of the far-right Freedom party might be elected president today, and he’s been normalised to the point where he got to portray himself as a center-right candidate, which he is obviously not, and a lot people believed him.
